Montana 4-H Shooting Sports Events
Montana 4-H Shooting Sports events provide 4-H Shooting Sports members with opportunities to participate in fun and educational competitive matches in archery, air rifle, air pistol, and small bore rifle. The State Shoot is open to all 4-H members enrolled in these disciplines, and is also the qualifying event for teens (14+) hoping to compete at the National 4-H Tournament in air rifle, air pistol, or small bore. Archery and other disciplines have separate qualifying matches.
Montana 4-H Shooting Sports Qualifying Events
The following events serve as the qualifier to participate in the National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational in June.
Age Requirements - Participants must have passed their 14th birthday by January 1 of the current year and may not have passed their 19th birthday before January 1 of the current year in which the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships are held.

2022 Madison Valley 4-H Archery Tournament
March 25th & 26th
The Madison Valley 4-H Shooting Sports Leaders would like to invite any county that has an active 4-H archery shooting sports program to participate in a tournament. This tournament is open to any participant of a current 4-H archery shooting sports program. 4-H membership is required to participate and receive awards. Youth must be 9 years old by October 1, 2021 to participate.

Shoot Times: Friday March 25th: 5:30pm & 7:00pm | Saturday March 26th: 9:00am, 10:30am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm & 3:00pm
Cost & Registration: Please Pre-register (required) through the Google Form by March 20th
Cost: $10 per shooter, per division. Payment may be made on the day you shoot. Cash or check, please make payable to MVSS (Madison Valley Shooting Sports) Each shooter may register for NO more than 3 divisions.
National Standard 4-H rules are followed by all divisions.
Age Classifications: 9 & 10 year olds 11 & 12 year olds 13 & 14 year olds 15-19 year olds
Divisions:
1. Unlimited-compound, moveable sights or fixed sights and release, stabilizer 12 inches and over.
2. Bowhunter-compound, moveable sights or fixed sights and release, stabilizer 12 inches or less
3. Limited-compound, fixed sights, and fingers.
4. Barebow-compound, no sights, and fingers
5. Primitive-recurve or longbow, no sights, and fingers
6. Olympic Recurve-recurve, sights, fingers, and stabilizer
National 4-H Invitational
The National 4-H Invitational Shooting Sports Tournament usually occurs in mid to late June. Participants must qualify at the Montana Shooting Sports Tournament in early March, or at specific events for archery, muzzle loading, shotgun, and hunting.
